Tomorrow's Leaders is an After School program focused on servicing children/teens that have experienced foster care or adoption. This program is to utilize enrichment programs for public education, college readiness/preparation, tutoring services, and outdoor play/activities. This program will include special services such as mental health, and life skills (budget planning, housing services, vocational awareness).
As someone who has experienced both foster care and adoption, I know how important prevention services can be. We want to be able to give those who are sometimes overlooked, the opportunity to succeed post-high school.
"Finding yourself" is something that is a universal feeling. Unfortunately, other children are allowed this rite of passage without having to worry about whether they will be homeless, hungry, or alone. This program strives to be that support system. Offering free services, after school only, for those in foster care or who have been adopted ages 12-18 years old.
